This easter egg serves as a heartfelt tribute to Tom Kane, the original voice actor behind Takeo Masaki throughout Call of Duty: World at War, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Following his passing in May 2026, Treyarch included this touching homage within Kowakujo, a map deeply connected to Takeo's story.
To begin, make your way to the Central Courtyard where the giant cherry blossom tree and Jugger-Nog are located. Stand on the western side of the tree and look at its base. Hidden amongst the roots, you'll find the initials T.K. carefully arranged from sticks as a tribute to Tom Kane.

Once you've found the initials, stand beside them and crouch. While remaining crouched, look up into the branches of the cherry blossom tree and keep your view fixed there for roughly fifteen seconds.

After enough time has passed, the easter egg will activate. The edges of your screen will begin to glow, zombies will temporarily ignore you, and you'll hear one final message from Takeo himself:
"I see myself at peace. Serene. Sitting beneath a cherry blossom tree. Listening to the joy of my children at play."

It's a simple moment, but a powerful and respectful tribute to one of the most beloved voices in Call of Duty Zombies history, ensuring Tom Kane's legacy lives on for every player who visits Kowakujo.
